Each of these titles is available from the Senior School Library for you to judge yourself.
Of course, you may not agree with the judges’ selections, or even wish to pick up any of these titles. There are many other worthy titles included in this year’s CBCA selection of notable books by Australian authors for Australian children. These can be viewed at the Children’s Book Council of Australia’s website in each of the following categories:
- Short List 2014 (for all age groups)
- Older Reader Notables for 2014 (suited to mature and high school aged readers)
- Younger Reader Notables for 2014 (for readers from the middle to upper primary years)
- Picture Book Notables for 2014 (for outstanding books of the Picture Book genre)
- Early Childhood Notables for 2014 (for children who are at pre-reading or early stages of reading)
- Crichton Award Short List 2014 (to recognise new talent in Australian children’s book illustration)
- Eve Pownall Notables for 2014 (for books that document factual material)
