Inkies longlist announced!

This week, with great excitement, the longlist for the Inkies was announced on ‘Inside a Dog’ – a website all about books – by young people, for young people, maintained by the State Library of Victoria.

‘Why should I be excited?’ you ask. Because the Inkies are selected by teens, for teens. Which should mean that there is something here for you!

Which of these have you read? Liked?

If you are interested in being an Inkys judge, (you would have to read all 20 longlisted books, which you get to keep, in the space of three months), here are some details from the website so that you can apply:

Interested?

To apply, send an email to youthlit@slv.vic.gov.au with the subject line ‘Inky Awards Judge’, telling me:

– Your details: name, age, what gender you identify as, what school you go to (if applicable), and which state/territory you live in; – Your Inside a Dog username (if you have one); – Why you want to be an Inky Awards Judge; – Who your favourite author is, and why; – How many books, on average, you read in a month.

You can either type your answers to the above, or if (like me) you love cameras, you can tell it to me in a video. (Please send any videos as an attachment in an email, or as a link to a central storage space – like dropbox.)

Get your applications in by 10amEST on Monday, 14 April!
